Love the "Alone Again Or" jamming in the beginning.
"gone for good" gets even more stunning when it's acoustic!
Imagine being on holiday and these come along and sing you a song. I would seriously sleep easier tonight knowing that at least one of those people sitting outside that bar in Paris knew exactly what they were witnessing.

The Mexican styled intro to Gone for Good - that ended on C - I loved that !!

While I think that 'Gone For Good' is one of my best songs, the second song 'Turn on me' was superb.

@clstile and after i did some homework, i found out this song, was originally done by a band called "love" in 1967, and was also covered by "the damned". it would have been great to hear the shins do the whole thing, its a great song.

In the beginning, you hear a REALLY good single by the Spoons. Everything hits at Once is the name of the that song you hear as they're walking up.

im pretty sure the song they play at 0:44 when they are walking is a "calexico" song called "alone again". very good song, these guys not only play great music, but they obviously have great taste too :)

LOVE & Bryan MacLean wrote "Alone Again" in 1967, released it with a Mariachi Band, strings, and bright trumpet on the arrangement in 1968 to become a smash hit - - only after Love broke up as a band. that song is a legit "classic". Nice work for a band who gets so little fanfare. They were amazing. Buy the album "FOREVER CHANGES". Enjoy it fully & completely!

calexico covered that song. it's from love's 1967 release, forever changes. if you like calexico you might check them out. specificly the forever changes album. some of their other stuff tends to be like a bad version of jimi hendrix.

Seems to be an oldie that was recorded by Love in 1967. I recognized it as a cover that Calexico plays; hot song.

@skylineiiigtr I enjoy calling them the spoons, only people who actually listen to them call them spoon. The only thing that disappoints me are the bassists that don't bust out with an upright doing acoustic stuff like that. more people should know who spoon is though, it sucks bringing them up and realizing the hives are more well-known than they are. hives are awesome but the point is they know them for "get free" and nothing else. *ack :-P

My only complaint which isn't really a complaint, more a suggestion i'd say, is that the vocals kind of get lost in the guitar. otherwise flawless and one of my favorites from The Shins
Because they have a smaller fan base there, and it's more fun to do there because they won't get mobbed by people. The anonymity is part of the draw.
